Concepts and Jargon
Understand the fundamentals first: 4 core concepts — talking-head, hook, completion rate, agent — plus a 6-scenario table showing what AI can do.
4 Core Concepts
Talking-head video
A short video format where a real person speaks to camera. One person + one phone + one script. The lowest-cost way to grow and monetize on Douyin.
Hook
The line that keeps viewers in the first 3 seconds. Whether they swipe away is decided in 3 seconds — the hook determines completion rate, and completion rate determines traffic.
Completion rate
The share of viewers who watch the whole video — one of the metrics Douyin's algorithm weighs most. High completion gets recommended; low completion gets buried.
Talking-head agent
A virtual director built with WorkBuddy: input a topic, get hook + script + shooting suggestions — a short-video scriptwriter on call 24/7.
6 High-Frequency Scenarios: How AI Helps
The production pipeline is topic → hook → script → shooting → review. Each stage has its jargon, and AI can take part of each:
| Scenario | What it means (jargon) | How AI helps |
|---|---|---|
| Topic finding | Spotting hit topics (trending, pain points) | AI analyzes benchmark accounts and returns 20 topics in 10 seconds |
| Writing hooks | The first-3-second retention line | AI generates 5 hook versions for A/B testing |
| Writing scripts | Main copy (200-500 words, 1-3 minutes) | AI structures the script as hook + value + closing |
| Colloquial rewriting | Turning bookish copy into spoken language | AI rewrites line by line into spoken expression |
| Shooting tips | Camera, expression, prop suggestions | AI generates a storyboard from the script |
| Data review | Reading plays, completion, engagement | AI analyzes the data and suggests optimizations |
Core Principle
AI produces the first draft and fills gaps; you judge and decide. Treat AI as a very smart subordinate — you assign the work and make the final call.

6 high-frequency scenarios x 3 hands-on exercises x 5 prompt templates x 1 agent — one formula plus one agent to produce a shoot-ready talking-head script in 3 minutes.
The 5-Piece Prompt Formula
The soul of the course: Role + Task + Background + Format + Constraints, plus the advanced trick of asking three questions first — remember this and you can write prompts yourself.
