Take It Home: 6 Templates + Quality Guardrails
6 copy-ready prompt templates along the research workflow, a blank competitor-comparison table, 3 + 3 quality red lines, and a tool reference.
This lesson is the toolkit. Six templates line up along the "research workflow": set goal → gather → deep-dive → compare → report → package. Universal across industries—copy, fill in, and use.
6 Prompt Templates (Copy and Use)
Template 1 [Set the goal]
I want to research [your industry/field]. Before you start, ask me three questions to lock down the scope, object, and deliverable format.Template 2 [Gather material]
Search the current state of [industry/field] comprehensively: market size, key players, policy moves, recent news.
Group into "policy / market / players / trends," one line each, with source and date.Template 3 [Deep-dive]
In deep-research mode, dig into [a key question] about [the industry]:
auto-search authoritative sources, multi-round follow-up, then a conclusion under 1,500 words with data sources.Template 4 [Competitor comparison]
Build a comparison table of [us] vs. [Competitor A] [B] [C]:
dimensions include positioning, target customers, core strengths, pricing, weaknesses/opportunities. ≤5 dimensions, one line each.Template 5 [Produce the report]
Turn the research above into a ready-to-hand-off report: title, conclusion first, sectioned argument, data with sources, 3 recommendations at the end.Template 6 [Package as a Skill]
(In WorkBuddy) Package the full "[your research scenario]" process into a skill:
from now on, whenever I enter [a keyword], you auto-run the full process and output [the deliverable].The six templates map to one complete workflow: 1 set goal → 2 gather → 3 deep-dive → 4 compare → 5 report → 6 package. You don't have to run all six every time—pick by your scenario.
Blank Competitor-Comparison Table (Ready to Use)
Competitors across the top, dimensions down the side. Copy this blank into your doc and fill it in:
| Dimension | Us | Competitor A | Competitor B | Competitor C |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Positioning | ||||
| Target customer | ||||
| Core strength | ||||
| Pricing | ||||
| Weakness / opportunity |
Quality Red Lines
3 General Ones (Any Research)
- AI fabricates with a straight face: numbers, dates, names—verify them yourself. When it's wrong, it sounds just as confident.
- No confidential or sensitive info: desensitize before input, or don't input at all—what's fed out can't be taken back.
- Output is not the final draft: your name is on it, you own it—do one last pass before sending.
3 Domain-Specific Ones (Industry Research / Employment Map)
- Every conclusion must trace to a source: every number, policy citation, and report finding must link back to the original.
- If it's missing, say "no public data available": don't let AI invent a "looks-real" number.
- Employment maps don't show employment rates: school/college/major fulfillment and employment rates are off-limits (policy-sensitive); pay is only marked "reference data, subject to actual figures."
