Assignment: Run Your First Industry Research
From reproducing the in-class main case, to swapping in your own scenario, to packaging a Skill—pick a tier; start with Assignment 1.
Take home three things tonight—6 prompt templates + a result you ran yourself + a research workflow that's yours.
Assignment 1: Reproduce (Start Here)
Using the in-class "major employment map" full prompt (Prompt B), look up a major for your child (or yourself) and run the process once.
Deliverable: an employment-map first draft (document).
Submission format:
- One-sentence conclusion (is this major worth it, where do graduates go)
- Process screenshots (prompt + AI running)
- The final document
- The one question you most want the instructor to address
Assignment 2: Apply
Using the same method, swap in an industry or role you care about and produce a research result.
Deliverable (pick one):
- A 500-word industry brief, or
- A 3-competitor comparison table (fill the blank table from Lesson 3)
Submission format: same as Assignment 1.
Assignment 3: Advanced
Package a research task you do repeatedly at work into your own Skill.
Deliverable: Skill call screenshot, or a 30-second effect recording.
Submission format:
- The Skill name and what it does (one sentence)
- Call screenshot / recording
- The output of one real call
- The one question you most want the instructor to address
Self-Check (One Pass Before Sending)
- Sources traceable: every number and policy citation links back to the original
- No fabricated data: if missing, write "no public data available"
- Do one last pass yourself before sending
Assignment Submission
- Upload a screenshot of each finished assignment to the site for submission.
- Pick your favorite piece: post it in the course group so everyone can enjoy your workflow.
